2. Based on your knowledge of the United Nations (U.N) and its work in the sphere

Of international peace and security, outline your views as to which of the

following statements best summarizes the impact of the U.N since its

establishment in 1945. (i) The U.N has been successful in preventing war and

Stopping acts of aggression; (ii) The U.N has found it difficult to fulfill its

mandate to maintain International peace and security.

3. What does the term "New Imperialism" refer to? Expand your answer to include a discussion of the factors that motivated the "New Imperialism" and the consequences it had for international relations.

4, With reference to either (i) the state or (ii) Non-state actors, critically assess the way in which their roles have changed in the Twentieth century and discuss the main challenges they face in fulfilling this role at this time.
