Faculty of Social Sciences Code of Conduct and Guidelines for
Instructional Sessions
- During
the Conduct of any class, there should no talking and / or activity which
disturbs the assembly and affects the orderly functioning of the
proceedings.
- Cell
phones, pagers and alarms of any sort must be turned off during classes.
Anyone needing to use a phone must leave the classroom.
- There
must be no eating and drinking during any lectures, neither should any
garbage be left in classrooms.
- Classes
are required to end five minutes before the hour to facilitate students’
attendance at consecutive classes elsewhere.
- All
chalk / white boards or other aids to instruction should be cleaned /
removed at the end of any class.
- Delay
in commencement of classes or the cancellation of classes must be
appropriately notified in due time to avoid unnecessary dislocation and
frustration.
- Student
representatives for each course are to be selected by the end of the
fourth week of classes.
- While
formal evaluation of coursework by students will take place at the end of
the semester, a short interim evaluation will be conducted by mid-semester
to give faculty some feedback on how their teaching is being received.
